Eco-Friendly
There are multiple reasons why electric vehicles are considered to be more environmentally friendly. That is why there are government-backed incentive schemes and why public sector transport is also making a shift towards EV vehicle choices. Let’s observe the key points to take away.
No road tax to pay for many models
Under the current UK road tax system, cars must pay road tax based on how much CO2 emissions they produce.
With electric vehicles producing none, they’re exempt from road tax. That said, if your car has a list price of £40,00 or more, you’ll need to pay road tax for five years. This will still work out cheaper than equivalent petrol or diesel models, though.
Exempt from clean air zone charges
An extra benefit for electric cars producing no emissions means they’re exempt from clean air zone charges.
Cities across the UK are beginning to introduce zones which will charge drivers of older petrol and diesel cars to drive through them or even entirely bar them. With an electric car, you won’t need to worry about that.

FAQs on work place grants
Can I use a Government Work Place Grant at home?
Yes, as long as the business address is the same as the home address subject to OZEV approval and conditions.
Can I install OZEV chargers using the Workplace Grant for my customer parking?
The grant is not available for chargers used by a visiting customers. Except if the applicant is a small accommodation business or charity.
Where do the chargers need to be fitted to qualify for the grant?
The parking facilities must be clearly associated with the applicant’s premises and be either on-site or a reasonable distance from the place of work. IF the business does not own the off-street parking, they must have consent from the landlord for charge points to be installed at all the sites listed in the application.
Can I claim a Work Place Grant for a new site or a recently installed charging point?
No, a new site under construction or previously installed or second-hand charge point will not be eligible for the Workplace Grant. Equally installations made prior to voucher approval will not be approved, applicants must apply for a voucher before any charge points are installed.
Can I financially charge staff, or visitors for the electricity consumed, by the EV?
Yes, all the chargers we install can be set to free to use or set for the usage to be paid for via credit card. Please ask for more details during your free on-site survey.

Easee
New to the market is the Commercial Easee charger, it is OLEV approved so you can use the Government Grant of £350.00 per point. These Norwegian chargers have the very latest technology and are proven in their home market of Norway where electric car technology is more advanced than in the UK.
The Commercial Easee charger is called a robot. Charge Robots maximise the available electrical capacity in your building. When multiple charging robots are connected to the same fuse, the available energy on the circuit will be automatically and dynamically distributed between the units. Unlike other providers the free software that allows employee access to the chargers also allows billing through the portal provided so charging use can be levied for the electricity provided to each car if needed.

OLEV/OZEV Grants
The grant scheme is available in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, but not in the Channel Islands or Isle of Man.
The scheme is run by the Office for Zero Emission Vehicles (OZEV) and administered by the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA).
The scheme is limited to UK businesses, charities and public sector organisations. It will include small bed and breakfast businesses.
Maximum 40 grants for any one business of up to £350 per charging point.
